Project aim

Lithuanian University of Agriculture/LUA-LT (Promoter of the Project) was founded 1924 and consists from 5 Faculties (Faculty of Agronomy, Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Water and Land Management and Faculty of Agricultural Engineering) and 5 Institutes. It has Experimental Station, Ecological Farm, Training Farm and some experimental sites. The research activities of Institutes, Faculties and Departments of the University focus mainly on: plant growing technologies research, plant breading and protection research, soil protection and fertilisation research, research for forestry, research for water management, environmental research, research in agricultural economics. Pedagogical-scientific personnel includes 460 lecturers, of them 39 professors and habilitated doctors, 232 associated professors and others. At present the University carries out theoretical (fundamental) and applied studies of two stages: basic bachelor studies and higher studies - MSc and PhD. It confers scientific degrees of doctor and habilitated doctor, and pedagogical titles - professor and associated professor. About 6 300 students are currently enrolled there. Park of Agricultural Science and technologies was founded at the Lithuanian University of Agriculture in 1998. Its responsibility is to advance general level of culture at rural areas by novelties of agricultural science and technologies, to improve the qualification of the farm, water and forest economy specialists concerning Western Europe.

Lithuanian University of Agriculture role in the Project:

  • Co-ordination, analyse and evaluation the advancement and implementation of the Project,

  • Financial management of the project activities,

  • Selection the methodology for the development of detailed curricula of the concrete module,

  • Preparation of vocational training material according the concrete curriculum requirement,

  • Participation in the testing of the vocational training materials and doing adjustments if necessary,

  • Organisation and participation in the workshops and the conferences,

  • Organisation and participation in evaluation and dissemination activities of the project work programme.
